KC motorcycle cop injured in wreck

A Kansas City motorcycle officer suffered leg injuries in a wreck today at 51st Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard.

Police said a driver turned left in front of the westbound motorcycle at 12:50 p.m. The impact pinched the officer’s leg between his crash bar and the vehicle before the officer was thrown over the front fender and onto the ground.

The other driver was trying to turn into a church parking lot to vote, police said. The officer thought the driver saw him, but then the driver suddenly pulled in front of him.

The officer’s injuries are not believed to be serious. He was taken to a hospital to be examined.
