Pedestrian killed on Independence Avenue

A woman was struck by a vehicle and killed while crossing Independence Avenue Friday evening, Kansas City police said.

The incident happened between Chestnut Trafficway and Montgall Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. The woman died from her injuries.

Police have not released the identity of the woman or additional information about the vehicle.
