Springfield man killed in San Antonio

A Springfield man died Saturday on a Texas road when he was hit by a tractor-trailer.

Roger Patterson, 68, was struck on Loop 1604 about 2 p.m. Saturday near Nacogdoches Road in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Patterson had stopped on the roadway when a wheel on a trailer he was towing came loose and rolled across the road.

Patterson was trying to retrieve the wheel when he was struck.
