Woman hit by car hospitalized

A woman was hospitalized with critical injuries after she was hit by a car around midnight, Kansas City, Kan., police said Sunday.

The car was traveling about 40 miles an hour near 67th Street and State Avenue when it hit the woman. The woman was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital.

It was unclear Sunday whether the driver, who did not leave the scene of the accident, would be charged in the accident.
