ATV crash injures two in Texas County

A two-vehicle crash this afternoon on a Texas County road sent two people to a Springfield hospital with serious injuries, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Cody L. Schuler, 23, of Summersville, and Christopher Willrett, 26, of Houston, were flown to Cox South Hospital after the 2:06 p.m. crash on Brushy Creek Road four miles east of Houston.

The crash occurred when the eastbound 2007 Honda all-terrain vehicle that Schuler was driving and that Willrett was riding on hit the rear of an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Stephanie Kinker, 19, of Raymondville.

The impact caused the ATV to overturn, and both men were thrown from the vehicle, the patrol reported.
