Crash in Spaulding injures 4-year-old boy

A 4-year-old boy was injured in a crash Monday at Illinois 54 and Allen Street in Spaulding.

Police said the boy had a cut on his forehead. He was taken to St. John’s Hospital for treatment. A 2-year-old girl also was taken to the hospital for observation.
Kerstin Moore, 24, of Riverton said she was driving east on Illinois 54 when a vehicle driven by Robert Raycraft, 17, of Riverton pulled in front of her vehicle.
Police said Moore’s vehicle, which contained the two young children, struck the driver’s side of Raycraft’s vehicle.
Raycraft said his view was blocked by another vehicle when he tried to turn right on Illinois 54.
An unrestrained 9-year-old passenger in Raycraft’s vehicle suffered a nosebleed and split lip, police said.
The incident occurred at 6:08 p.m. Monday.
