Skateboarder critically injured after being struck by car
A teen-aged skateboarder was in critical condition after he tried crossing a Kansas City, Kan., street late last night and was struck by a car.
The skateboarder was riding east on Elizabeth Avenue in northeast Kansas City, Kan., about 10:45 p.m. when he tried crossing North Sixth Street.
He was struck by a red Chevrolet Impala as it was headed south on Sixth Street. The skateboarder was trapped under the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.
He was taken to a hospital in critical condition for treatment of his injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
