Vehicles in same lane collide

Two vehicles that were in the same lane both southbound on Fifth Street near South Grand Avenue collided Tuesday after one of the drivers attempted to turn left.

Andrew W. Gallagher, 27, of Quincy reportedly attempted to turn into the McDonald’s, 501 South Grand Ave. E., parking lot while the other driver, Raymond T. O’Brien, 65, of the 2600 block of South 11th Street continued south.

Gallagher was cited for an improper turn at an intersection and his vehicle had to be towed.

The incident occurred at 12:36 p.m. Tuesday.
