Accident victim still critical following wrong-way wreck in Northland

A woman remained in critical condition Monday after she was injured in a Saturday head-on traffic crash caused by a wrong-way driver, Kansas City police said.

The woman, three children and her husband suffered injuries when a car driven by an 80-year-old man struck their car on U.S. 169 near Wheeler Downtown Airport shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday.

The other driver, who was also hospitalized after the crash, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when the crash occurred, according to police.
