An Ozark man was hospitalized Wednesday after a head-on collision south of Springfield, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

A patrol report said Jonathan Ibbetson, 36, of Ozark was driving a 1993 Jeep Cherokee north on Greene County NN when he failed to negotiate a curve on wet pavement and struck a southbound 2009 work box truck head on.

Ibbetson, who was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report, was thrown from the Jeep. He was taken to St. John's Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries, the report said.

The driver of the truck, Christopher Carlson, 33, of Springfield, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a Springfield doctor by private vehicle, according to the report.

Carlson was wearing a seat belt, the report said.

The crash happened at about 1:20 p.m.
