Three people injured in head-on collision
A head-on collision Monday two miles east of Merriam Woods sent three people to area hospitals.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m., on U.S. 160. A pickup driven by James Beattie, 23, of Forsyth, was headed west on the highway when Beattie lost control and crossed the median.
The pickup struck a sport utility vehicle driven by Dalynn Turner, 30, of Taneyville, head on. Turner was headed east.
Both Turner and Beattie suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Skaggs Hospital.
A passenger in Turner’s vehicle, John Jackson, 29, of Taneyville, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital.
