Three injured on U.S. 65 when wreck propels rocks

A Springfield woman was seriously injured Thursday evening when the vehicle she was driving ran off the roadway and struck a pile of rocks, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Trinity Childers, 22, was southbound on U.S. 65 in near Saddlebrooke when the Cadillac she was driving crossed into the median, according to a highway patrol crash report.

When the car hit the pile, rocks were propelled into the northbound lane hitting two other vehicles, according to the crash report.

Also injured in the accident was Joseph Redfield, 33, of Springfield, who was also in the Cadillac, according to the report.

Neither Childers nor Redfield were wearing seatbelts, according to the report.

Chelsea Manes, 23, of Ozark suffered injuries when rocks were propelled into her lane, according to the report.
