Truck leaves scene after hitting man
An 89-year-old Mansfield man suffered serious injuries Tuesday when he was hit by a pickup truck that left the scene, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Mack Richards was taken to St. John's Hospital in Springfield after the 9:45 a.m. incident on Old Missouri 5 about two-tenths of a mile south of Mansfield.
Richards was walking north on the edge of the road's southbound lane when he was hit by a southbound 1997 Dodge pickup, troopers said
