Two-car crash closes Illinois 4 Sunday afternoon

A two-vehicle crash caused Illinois State Police to close Illinois 4 for about 30 minutes Sunday.

The crash occurred about half a mile south of Chatham on Illinois 4 at 3:20 p.m.

The driver of one of the vehicles, Brittany Roach, 20, of Auburn, was taken to Memorial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Roach was southbound on Illinois 4 and attempted to turn around by pulling into a private driveway. Roach turned in front of a vehicle driven by James J. Cardoni, 43, of Chatham.

Cardoni declined medical treatment. Roach was cited for improper lane usage.
