Two-vehicle crash injures woman
A 28-year-old Macoupin County woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Illinois 159 just north of Bunker Hill on Saturday, according to Illinois State Police.
Heidi L. Beavers of Mount Olive was flown by Arch helicopter to St. Louis University Hospital, where she was listed in fair condition Saturday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The accident occurred at 2:38 p.m.
According to police, Beavers was driving a 1994 Lexus ES300 when it swerved into the opposing lane. Gary L. Johnson of Brighton, driving a 1994 International Truck, told police his brakes locked up as he attempted to avoid the car, and the two collided.
Johnson was not hurt, state police said.
Beavers was cited for improper lane usage.
